Employment and Training

Key Priorities 2008 - 2009

The key priorities for the coming 12 months are

  • Work with partners to share learning on JobLink to inform the development of Gloucester City Employment Plan
  • Support partners who are aiming to reduce the numbers of people trapped on incapacity benefit who would like to work.

Learning, Skills and Employment Pilot (JobLink)

Through our work with the Learning in Regeneration Partnership and Gloucester City Council, we worked closely with partners to develop a new brokerage pilot, to ensure that local residents in our neighbourhoods get access to the job opportunities arising from the city regeneration schemes, and improved access to existing vacancies in the city.

This pilot ended in March 2007 and we are now involved in supporting GloucesterWorks and the Gloucester City Employment Plan.
